Hi, Joy here. I started Mama's Makery in 2024 to help improve Mama's mental health by spending more time with her doing something she loves - crafts. This small business also gave her a space to be creative and socialize with like-minded people in our local art community during craft fairs and markets.

It worked... but Mama's crochet pace is more casual so I end up making most of our crochet flowers, products and content. It takes a lot to run a small business while working and being a full-time grad student, so my husband, two older sisters (J1 and J2) and Papa (aka Papa's Makery) sometimes join in on the fun too. I always tell people: Mama made me; therefore, everything I make at Mama's Makery is only possible because of her.
